Before his pen went dry, Pranab Mukherjee wrote on 1971, love for Bangabandhu family

Former Indian president Pranab Mukherjee had warm ties with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family. One of his speeches in 1971 and his memories of Bangladesh’s liberation war form one of the last long articles Mukherjee completed before his death in August. It is a part of an anthology of essays in honour of the birth centenary year of Hasina’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In a report published on Oct 17, The Hindu provides glimpses into what is inside the article. bdnews24.com republishes the report.
